Backfit of Building 365 air conditioning system – 3 Wing Canadian Forces Base Bagotville

November 6, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project consists of work execution, labor, materials/supplies and tools needed to ensure compliance of the air conditioning system of B365. Work includes but is not limited to the replacement of cooling units in three server rooms. Dismantling of indoor partitions will be necessary for their installation. The roof water tower, and related piping and pump will be dismantled. An outdoor concrete slab will be poured for the chiller and some paving will have to be redone. A new propylene glycol network will be installed (including pumps, plate exchangers, air separator, control valves, manual valves). Painting will be done for final restoration.
