The Proposed Project

The project will include upgrades to the communities two water treatment facilities. Infrastructure that is associated with these upgrades are a building expansion (approx. 90m2 per site), membrane water treatment plant, above ground potable water storage, upgraded pumping distribution system, two raw water supply wells, lift station and forcemain for membrane reject water. There are no significant environmental features or landmarks in the project areas. The proposed development will be primarily conducted on previously altered/developed landscapes. Mild clearing and grubbing will be required for development of the proposed superstructure at the New Road North facility as well as the raw water supply wells shown in the attached drawing. Waste from the membrane treatment plant will be accepted by the community's facultative lagoon. As part of the design development an assessment of the facultative lagoon was undertaken to verify that the membrane treatment wastes can be accepted in addition to the community's existing loading. This assessment determined there is ample capacity for the lagoon to accept the membrane waste.
