Notice of intent to make a determination

Teacherages Project (Site Servicing)– Public Comments Invited

June 8, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed  Teacherages Project (Site Servicing), located in Poplar River First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The Poplar River First Nation requires new teacherages with infrastructure to service the school in the community. The project will include grubbing, lot grading, drainage, access roads, water main and sewer main piping, sewer and water service piping, fire hydrants, air release chamber and septic tanks.

 

The infrastructure for this project includes:

•             290 m of water main piping

•             320 m of water service piping

•             420 m of pressure sewer main

•             280 m of pressure sewer service piping

•             11 septic tanks

•             400 m of granular roadway

•             Air release chamber

•             2 fire hydrants

 

The project activities include:

•             Grub tree stumps from the development area

•             Lot grading and drainage ditches

•             Install water and sewer main piping

•             Install water and sewer service piping

•             Install septic tanks

•             Install air release chamber

•             Install fire hydrants

•             Construct an access road
