Project Summary

The project's purpose is to expand the sewage lagoon in Gull Bay, ON. This project consists of construction of a new facultative lagoon cell, installation of a new discharge flow measurement device within a concreate chamber, excavation of a new drainage channel, installation of a new effluent pipe and rip rap outlet, installation of interconnection infrastructure to the existing lagoon system, construction of perimeter ditching and a service road and site fencing to encompass the new cell.  The new Lagoon cell will be installed on undeveloped land adjacent to the existing lagoon.  This will require the removal of approximately 5.5 ha of undisturbed vegetation. The project will ensure that increasing effluent levels are properly treated before release into adjacent waterways and reduce the risk of system failure.

Scope:

  • Construct a new sewage lagoon cell
  • Add impermeable liner
  • Construct a new access road
  • Install new high level overflow and outlet pipes
  • Ditching and fencing around lagoon cell
  • Clearing of 5.5 ha of undisturbed vegetation
