To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed permit extension, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. The Proposed Project Amendment

Queensgate Marina proposes to continue maintenance dredging within their water lot in the Annacis Channel near 789 South Dyke road, New Westminster, BC. Maintenance dredging was last approved and conducted in 2020. Due to the prolonged freshet conditions in 2021, Queensgate Marina has seen an increase in sediment that has the potential to interfere with their utility float and cause other stresses to the docks if left unchecked. Queensgate Marina requires additional time to remove approximately 5 to 10 cubic metres of sediment via water jetting. This activity is to deepen any areas that are shallow enough to result in float home grounding. The project would occur during the least risk timing windows of June 16 to November 30, during standard port authority construction hours.
