Notice of intent to make a determination

Moody Road Development Municipal Servicing Project– Public Comments Invited

December 15, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed  Moody Road Development Municipal Servicing Project, located in  Nishichawayasihk Cree Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation is proposing to develop residential lots with related infrastructure to service the community. The project will include clearing, grubbing, peat removal, drainage, access road and cul-de-sacs, watermain and sewer main piping, sewer and water service piping, fire hydrants. The works will be completed within a 30 m road right-of-way throughout the proposed development area. The development is located approximately 250 m north of Footprint Lake, and adjacent to the new school development area. The proposed road right-of-way development site has been partially cleared of trees.
