Tataskweyak Cree Nation New Commercial Parcel Utility Development

– Public Comments Invited

February 22, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed  Tataskweyak Cree Nation New Commercial Parcel Utility Development, located in  Tataskweyak Cree Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The project consists of the development of the recently designated commercial parcel Lot 22 of CSLR 109818. Infrastructure anticipated for this project will include a new road, approaches, ditches, lot grading, water main, water service, sewer main, sewer service, and fibre optic services. As well, electrical and telecom utilities. Activities will include topsoil stripping, earthworks excavation cut/fills for entire commercial parcel, new road construction including granular import and compaction, ditch excavation, rock blasting and sand import for bedding of sewer and water mains and service stub outs, fibre conduit plowing and fibre blowing. Rock blasting will be limited in the area per blast.
