Notice of Extension of Time Limit for Issuance of Decision Statement

James Bay Lithium Mine Project

August 10, 2022 – The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, under subsection 27(3) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012, has extended by 90 days the time limit for issuance of the Decision Statement for the proposed James Bay Lithium Mine Project to allow the Joint Assessment Committee (Impact Assessment Agency of Canada and Cree Nation Government) to consult Cree communities in an optimal and meaningful way and to complete the environmental assessment, which requires co-drafting and approval processes by both parties.
