Notice of intent to make a determination

Yellow Quill First Nation Subdivision Stage 2 - Public Comments Invited

February 10, 2023 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Yellow Quill First Nation Subdivision Stage 2, located on Yellow Quill IR 90, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Construction of a minimum 40 lot residential subdivision development in Section 34-Twsp 39-Range 12-W2M to meet the immediate housing needs of the community. The subdivision will encompass approximately 30 hectares of land currently used for agricultural purposes. Infrastructure will include: roadways, water and sewer mains, fire hydrants, building services, power, gas and phone lines. Activities will include: Boreholes to determine sub-surface soil conditions, topsoil stripping, cut/fill earthwork to construct roadways and residential lots, water and sewer main installations, building service installations, topsoil replacement and landscaping, seeding.
