Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — June 16, 2023 — On June 13, 2023, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) suspended for three weeks the 180-day time limit within which it must provide Voyager Metals Inc.. (the proponent) with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment of the Mont Sorcier Mining Project (the project), if the Agency decides that an impact assessment of the Project is required.

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request (in French only) from the proponent that the time limit be suspended to extend the comment period to recognize the extenuating circumstances arising from the ongoing forest fires in Quebec and their impacts on communities. Comments on the proponent's Initial Project Description for this project will continue to be accepted by visiting the project homepage on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry website until July 14, 2023.

At the end of the three-week period, on July 4, 2023, the Agency will post a notice indicating that the 180-day time limit will resume.
