Notice of Determination

Québec – Novembre 20, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed project Construction of a fire station in Masteuiatsh is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination is based on the following considerations:

• Mitigation measures typical of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh Takuhikan specifications will be taken during the various phases of the work. Contractors will be provided with the mitigation workbook, and mitigation measures will be monitored by the community's technical services sector.
• Excavated soil will be properly managed and disposed of according to the level of contamination detected, if any.

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
