Renovation of the Mgr-Blanche terminal at the Port of Sept-Iles
The Sept-Îles Port Authority has determined that the proposed renovation of the Mgr-Blanche terminal project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
• impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• community knowledge;
• comments received from the public;
• expert opinion from other federal departments
• technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
The mitigation measures considered for this determination are for the following elements:
• sediments, soils, water and air quality;
• avian fauna and migratory birds;
• aquatic fauna and environmental noise.
The Port of Sept-Iles is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, the Port of Sept-Iles may authorize the project to be carried out on its territory.
