TELUS Communications Inc.'s New Antenna Proposal for Existing Tower on Mount Wallensteen - Public Comments Invited


 

2023-12-12 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by 2024-01-12 to the contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

TELUS Communications Inc. is proposing the installation of new radiocommunication antenna system on an existing tower 25 meters in height to provide telecommunication services to the existing radiocommunication site at Mount Wallensteen.

 An antenna consisting of one cylinder, measuring 1.20 m in diameter will be mounted to the existing tower at 25 meters above ground level and will operate in the SHF (microwave) band between 10700 MHz – 11700 MHz.

 This new antenna may be replaced or have other minor modifications in the future, as required for any Radiocommunication service.
