Notice of Determination

Cross Lake – Oct 13, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed CLCOI Road B Sewer and Water is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• community knowledge;
• comments received from the public; and
• technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

• Mitigation measures in the Simple Environmental Review report are to be implemented. Also, should there be any additional mitigation measures from provincial authority regarding any aspect of this project, such measures must be implemented. All implemented mitigation measures are to be documented in the Mitigation Measure Compliance Report and submitted to both First Nation and ISC officials at the end of the project. Environmental Mitigation is to be part of the project meeting discussion during the construction stage.

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
