Demolition of Buildings HD04 & H104 – Garrison Saint-Jean

June 13, 2024 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The project includes the demolition of hangars HD04 and H104 and the disconnection of existing pipes, including a portion of the sewer network at Garrison Saint-Jean. It also includes the decontamination of dangerous materials inside the building (asbestos, lead based paint, etc.), the selective demolition of certain works and the deconstruction of structures.
