Strongly opposed to this mine

The wildlife in the Kootenays are already heavily impacted by habitat degradation and fragmentation. This habitat is irreplaceable and is not worth destroying for a 15 year mine. The short-term economic benefit does not surpass the long term cumulative impacts this mine will have on the surrounding wildlife and ecosystem. Not everything should be seen as a financial transaction, you can not put a dollar amount on the importance of this ecosystem to the wildlife and to us- in these difficult times when we are feeling the negative impacts of climate change more and more every year. We need to protect these natural spaces for our health and quality of life as well.
