December 3, 2018 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) informed the proponent on November 30, 2018, that more information is required relating to the conformity of the Environmental Impact Statement submitted by the proponent on October 30, 2018. An opportunity to comment on the summary of the Environmental Impact Statement will be announced at a later date, after the Agency has received and reviewed the required information.

About the Proposal

Galaxy Lithium (Canada) Inc. is proposing the construction, operation and decommissioning of an open-pit lithium mine located approximately 100 kilometers east of James Bay and the Eastmain Cree Village, Quebec. As proposed, the James Bay Lithium Mine Project would have an estimated mine life of more than 20 years, and produce on average 5,480 tonnes of ore per day. The project would include an open-pit mine and concentrator facility, tailings, waste rock, ore and overburden storage areas, as well as related infrastructure.
