Hello there,
I'd like to provide the following comment from CPAWS-NS regarding the Draft Agreement - Nova Scotia for the Regional Assessment of Offshore Wind Development.
Draft Agreement - Nova Scotia
The map of the Regional Assessment Study Area should include marine refuges (Fisheries Act closures). This is an important addition as similar to marine protected areas, existing and former oil and gas licenses, and prohibition areas, it is likely that offshore wind development will not be compatible with management measures for these sites. Marine refuges should be highlighted at the same time as the other features on the study area map, as this ensures greater transparency throughout the process.
Thank you,
