Hydrogen Ready Power Plant Project

Text

I am very concerned that this project will set back Ontario and Canada's greenhouse gas emission targets. This project will ramp up carbon dioxide emissions through the combustion of natural gas fossil fuel. The provisional plan for suplementation of hydrogen as a fuel for energy production is very weak with no real assurance that if hydrogen is used at all it will come from green hydrogen produced by electrolysis rather than hydrogen produced from natural gas. If Ontario wishes to address climate change seriously it must put significant resources into increasing renewable energy and renewable energy grids, not investing in increasing fossil fuel combustion.
