Weenusk Cultural Ground Replacement

Weenusk First Nation will replace its existing powwow grounds with a new facility, which will allow Weenusk First Nation to host powwows and other cultural celebrations, to provide a safe space for women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ persons, and to install a memorial for Missing and Murdered Indigneous Women and Girls.

June 1, 2023 – Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
