The environmental impacts of such activities will not only take a tole on the biodiversity of the land but on its people. Time and time again we have seen how the governemnt has treated First Nations & Inuit communities. The land will be poissoned, which will directly impact already fragile communities who struggle to get some of thier basic needs met. As people who rely heavily on country food, what will happen when the food becomes uneatable? We are already seeing the dramatic consequances of climate change in the north, this will add an additional challenge the people will be left to deal with. A project only a select few will profit from.
