Strange lake mining

To learn about the possible Strange Lake project is very disturbing because it involves Rare Earth mining.  Its the worse, dirtiest and harmful mining that exists.  Regardless the  protection measures mentioned the negative impacts will outweigh this and the impact is inevitable.  Such a project will have a devastating impact on the land, waters, wildlife and fish.

The indigenous population would be  greatly effected in their traditional life, the social effects and peoples health.  We must think of our future generation and protect and ensure that they continue to strive in their Inuit heritage in every way possible. This  project would have a major impact on the George River and the community of Kangirsualujuaq.     Having lived on the George River and surrounding areas for over 70 yrs I know the importance of protecting our land, waters and wildlife, especially so to pass to our future generations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The tourist camps on the George River will greatly be effected also, especially Pyramid Mountain camp which is very near to the proposed sight.  The quality of the fine water and the Atlantic Salmon and the Salmon lies are on this river.

I think this is a dangerous project.  Protecting our land and our health is essential and very important and such a project should not be permitted to go ahead.
