Extension of Basile McDougall Street and preparation for housing development - Abitibiwinni

The project is located in the community of Pikogan. It consists of extending Basile McDougall street to allow urban development, including the addition of residential lots. The street will be extended by approximately 500 meters. The installation of underground infrastructures to manage stormwater, sanitary water and drinking water is also part of the project. Here are the main activities planned as part of the project:

- Installation of typical road infrastructure (e.g. intersections, paving, etc.)

- Installation of typical underground infrastructure (e.g. storm water pipes, sanitary water pipes, etc.)

- Levelling of adjoining lots in preparation for residential construction

- General landscaping

October 9, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
