Iskut Waste Transfer Station

The objective of the Project is to construct and commission an on-reserve Waste Transfer Station that is local to Iskut.
Waste from the community is currently hauled to the Iskut Landfill, which is anticipated to be closed in the near future
under a provincially approved Solid Waste Management Plan from the owner of the Iskut Landfill (the Regional District
of Kitimat-Stikine or RDKS). Implementation of this Project will allow Iskut to meet the waste management needs of
the community and support the closure of the Iskut Landfill. The Project site is located northeast of Iskut 6, on the east side of Highway 37 (Cassiar Highway), proximate to the Kulachon subdivision of the community.
