Stswecem'c Xget'tem First Nation - Telus Telecommunications Tower - Dog Creek

The Project includes construction of a 45 m high self-support Telus telecommunications tower, and installation of associated equipment including an 8' x 10' equipment shelter, a 40 kW generator set with a diesel tank and a step down transformer. The tower and associated equipment will be constructed on a 15 m x 15 m gravel pad compound area. An 8' high chainlink fence will be constructed around the tower, generator, transformer and shelter to prevent unauthorized access. The Project will include construction of a 190.3 m long, right-of-way access road that will connect the new cell tower to Benchland Road. The electrical routing extending from the compound will include (1) a new 223.3 m underground power and fibre line extending from a new drop pole along Benchland Road to the compound, and (2) a new 16.9 m overhead power and fibre line between the drop pole and existing hydro pole along Benchland Road. In addition, a new transformer will be constructed next to the new drop pole. The Project footprint is occurring within a forested area adjacent to rural development.
