Lytton First Nation - Battlefield Housing and Food Hub

The Lytton Creek Wildfire of 2021 resulted in devasting losses, including the tragic loss of several community members, and housing and community structures. Phase one of the Battlefield housing subdivision was constructed in Spring/Summer 2022 to re-house displaced Band Members.  LFN is commencing with construction of additional homes to provide housing for community members. In the short term, these new homes will provide temporary accommodation for community members currently displaced from the Lytton townsite. In the long-term these new homes will eventually provide long-term residences for additional community members.  As such, it is anticipated that an additional 30 new lots will be built in 2024 (Phase two).

The LFN and Lytton Agriculture Committee, in consultation with Blaine Consulting Inc., have been dedicated to the development of a regional Food Hub to support growth and innovation in the community's agriculture and agrifood sectors.  As a service-oriented enterprise, the Food Hub will provide food and beverage processing, white-labelling, product development and business planning services, access to food aggregation, distribution and storage, as well as offer office, meeting, classroom and storefront space.
