Replacement of the Superior West Weather Radar
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The purpose of the project is to decommission the existing Superior West Weather Radar located near Thunder Bay, ON and to install a new weather radar system in Shuniah, ON. The new radar will operate at frequency of 2850MHz.
The radar is located near 10-140 Tower Road, Shuniah, Ontario P7A 0W2, a property that ECCC requested a transfer of adminstration and control from the Government of Ontario. The geographic coordinates of the proposed radar site are 48.595876°, -89.100129°.
