Marine Terminal Upgrade Project - Thunder Bay Port Authority - Thunder Bay, ON

The Project includes 3 work components.  All will assessed in one environmental review for the project, per the IAA Section 82.

(1)  Cargo laydown expansion at Keefer Terminal;   (2)    New electrical service for certain areas and some replacement to existing electrical service - this work overall covers the entire Keefer Terminal (include wharf 1, 2, 3, shed buildings, and laydown areas).  (3)  Safety measure improvements to existing rail service (i.e., gates, signals, and lights at location A & B).  


Latest update

April 17, 2025 - Transport Canada and the Thunder Bay Port Authority issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
