Timber harvesting on ANAHIMS FLAT 1

November 15, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until December 15 2023 respecting that determination.

Latest update

December 27, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined the the proposed timber harvesting on  ANAHIMS FLAT 1 is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;

Indigenous knowledge;

community knowledge;

comments received from the public;

mitigation measure.

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address:

Land, Soil, Vegetation, Wildlife, Water features, Air.

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
