York Factory Proposed Ditching and Drainage Project

The project involves identifying existing drainage deficiencies, evaluating road and surface runoff conditions, and developing conceptual and detailed solutions based on field data, community input, and technical best practices. The main components of the recommended drainage improvement works include shallow excavation work, culvert installation, riprap placement, revegetation and limited road upgrades/realignment. 


Latest update

March 25, 2026 –Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until April 23, 2026 respecting that determination.
