  • Trapping coyotes usually involves legholds and snares, and every coyote trapped or killed leaves room for more to move in.  We would like the airport to stop the hunting/trapping and instead develop a Living With Coyotes program with the animal welfare organization Coyote Watch Canada.  www.coyotewatchcanada.com   Please only use non lethal ways to manage wildlife.     There are humane, non lethal ways to deal with beavers.  Here's a great resource. ...

  • Hi Folks,              Long overdue in my opinion.My first flights into the current Nain(CYDP) airstrip werein 1992 .There are many operators and Pilots I believe who would share the same vision.My first views was that it was a scenic area with much potential for development.ie:Mining-Voisey Bay  and the Beautiful Torngat Regions,multiple bays and islands,hunting and fishing  at weekend getaways. My Pilot lense saw something quite different as it was a very short airstrip with obstacles on,arrival(Water on one end and Hils on the other) landing and departures and all within uncontrolled airspace.ie:My first Chief Pilot said to me"Never a left turn after departure when departing on westward until above the hills"The climb out thru the valley while overflying the town of Nain using the updraft for climb performance during the warmer summer days with the prevailing winds is and probably still quite common and I ...
