Portugal Cove Light and Fog Signal Replacement
Canadian Coast Guard is planning the replacement of Aid to Navigation infrastructure at the Provincially owned wharf in Portugal Cove, NL. The previous light and fog signal were removed during wharf replacement activities. It is expected that on-site work for this project will be completed in December 2021.
Scope of the project consists of installing an approximately 4.5m high steel tower containing a light and fog signal on a 4m2 poured concrete base on the surface of the existing wharf. Power to the light and fog signal will be supplied via overland cable. The project will involve the use of heavy equipment to remove existing asphalt and to pour the new concrete base.
