Great Lakes Power Ice Boom Timber Replacement

Great Lakes Power Ltd. proposes to replace the timber booms between the caissons located at the West end of Sault Ste. Marie Canal at the entry to the intake channel to the Clergue generating station. Timbers will be stored at Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site over the winter and installed using divers in 2022. A Major Works permit under the Canadian Navigable Waters Act is required. This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment.
