Michipicoten First Nation Roads Rehabilitation Project

The project will upgrade a combined total of approximately 7 kilometres of access and community roads. The scope of work includes utility relocations, resurfacing and grading, widening of roadway sections, brush clearing, sightline improvements, regulatory and warning signs, replacement/installation of approximately 12 culverts, with ditching and drainage modifications. This work will occur in phases and is anticipated to take place in the Fall 2025 through Fall 2026.


Latest update

August 29, 2025 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.

April 30, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until May 30, 2025 respecting that determination.
