Demolition of the Rappel Tower at Canadian Forces Base Beaumont Hamel Armoury, Grand Falls - Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador

The Department of National Defence is proposing the demolition of the Rappel Tower located at the Canadian Forces Base Beaumont Hamel Armoury. The Beaumont Hamel Armoury is located off Memorial Avenue, on the western side of the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador at a Latitude 48°56'07.6"N and Longitude 55°39'37.7"W. The armoury site is used for army reserve and cadet training. The Rappel Tower is constructed of six pressure treated wooden poles and two wooden platforms; it is approximately thirty years old located in the northeastern portion of the armoury.

October 14, 2020– The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
