Red Sucker Lake First Nation New Landfill

 

Red Sucker Lake First Nation (RSLFN) is located approximately 710 km northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The community is accessible all year round by air travel and by winter road during the winter months.

The total registered population of RSLFN is approximately 1,128 members, based on the regional

population statistics (January 2020).

 

The proposed Waste Management Facility (WMF) is located north of RSLFN on reserve Land,

approximately 500 m north of the existing Band Tankfarm Site. The site location plan is shown on

Cover Sheet. The new WMF is designed to serve the community of RSLFN with a lifespan of

approximately 30 years.

30 May 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
