Ahousaht big house - Hishuk'Ish Tsawalk

Ahousaht First Nation will construct a Bighouse to hold ceremonies, and re-engage with cultural practices and the Ahousaht language. The proposed structure will be a large single room and single-story community building, with both a traditional heavy timber and conventional stick frame construction. The building is estimated to be around 12,000 square feet.
