Takla Nation - Telus Telecommunications Tower - Takla Landing
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The Project includes construction of a 50 m self-support Telus telecommunications tower, and installation of associated equipment including an 8' x 10' equipment shelter, and a 40 kW diesel generator set with a fuel tank. The tower and associated equipment will be constructed on a 15 m x 15 m gravel pad compound area with a 4 m wide by 3 m long right of way access area. A chainlink fence will enclose the compound area, preventing unauthorized access to the tower. The electrical routing extending from the tower will include: a 52 m underground power routing from an existing drop pole to the proposed shelter, and a 11 m overhead power line from an existing hydro pole to an existing drop pole. The Project footprint is occurring within a previously disturbed area that is no longer forested, but contains shrubby regrowth that will need to be cleared to facilitate the Project.
