Wapekeka First Nation Bulk Fuel Storage Upgrades Project

Wapekeka First Nation has proposed a Bulk Fuel Storage Upgrades Project at the community's nursing station. The existing tanks will be decomissioned, removed and replaced with one (1) new 25,000L double-walled main tank and two (2) new 4,500L double-walled day tanks at the Nursing Station and residence. The project will include replacement of all above ground piping, valves and fittings within the new main tank containment dike, as well as existing plastic piping, sumps and obsolete controls to conform to TSSA standards. Design and construction have and will be completed to comply with TSSA requirements, CSA B139-19 Standards, ULC standards and The Storage Tank Systems For Petroleum and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations. The project is deemed necessary as the existing bulk fuel storage systems start to show evidence that could potentially lead to environmental hazards.
