Basin Dredging at Pinkney's Point Small Craft Harbour, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia

The proposed project will involve dredging of the harbour basin and entrance channel which was previously dredged in 2007. The proposed dredge area is approximately 22,000 m2 which will be dredged to a grade of -2.5 meters, resulting in approximately 15,650 m3 of collected material.

The method of dredging would be determined by the successful contractor and may include suction dredging, land-based dredging carried out from an excavator working off the shoreline, marginal service area, a temporary rock access road which would be removed at the end of the project. Dredging may also be undertaken from an excavator working from a floating barge.  Dredge material would be disposed of in the on-site containment cell.

Project commencement is subject to DFO-SCH operational priorities and funding, as well as the receipt of other regulatory approval processes, which could delay the completion of the project to March 2025.
