Digby Nova Scotia PARROT/DME Replacement

NAV CANADA proposes to replace the existing Position Adjustable Range Reference Orientation Transponder (PARROT) navigation aid with a combined Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) and PARROT. The DME/PARROT site is located southeast of the community of West Dalhousie, Nova Scotia on West Dalhousie Road and the purpose is to provide navigational aid to aircraft operating in the area. The new DME/PARROT will consist of a new equipment shelter, communications tower, and fence, and a new utility pole will be installed to the east of the new tower to allow utilities to be connected. The existing PARROT will be dismantled after the construction of the new DME.
