Phases 10 to 13; 25 Kilovolt Upgrade - Canadian Forces Base Suffield

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed to execute a project to upgrade the electrical distribution in the Force Maintenance Area of the Base from 13.8 kilovolts to 25 kilovolts with construction taking place in phases over the next four years. The physical work encompasses replacement of overhead power lines with an underground distribution system. Work will include the replacement of electrical components and equipment feeding approximately 68 buildings.

January 25, 2023— The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
