2026 IPC Annual Development and Operations Plan - Canadian Forces Base Suffield

International Petroleum Corp. (IPC) Canada Ltd. is planning to drill up to 10 wells (e.g., gas, oil, injection, exploratory) and install associated pipelines, facilities, and utilities (e.g., fuel gas, electrical) within Canadian Forces Base Suffield in 2026. Environmental and archaeological surveys will be completed for all new developments to confirm the absence of sensitive features and/or develop site specific mitigation. The sites will be built to support a drilling rig and rolled back upon completion. The corridors for the pipelines and utilities will be reclaimed once construction is complete. All lands will be reclaimed and surrendered upon exhaustion of the useful life of the associated developments. IPC will also complete upgrades and optimization projects of existing infrastructure and sites, as well as repairs, maintenance and replacements as required by ongoing operations.

Latest update

December 30, 2025 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
