The Key First Nation Lagoon Upgrade Project

The Key First Nation is proposing a lagoon upgrade project. The project site is located approximately 1.2 km southeast of the community core area, immediately south of solid waste transfer station, and is adjoined to the east side of the existing lagoon.

The proposed lagoon expansion area is currently utilized as agricultural lands. Construction will consist of converting and expanding the existing storage cell to a facultative cell approximately 0.49 ha in size, as well as construction of a new storage cell with 21,465 cu.m. of storage capacity. The existing facultative cell will be decommissioned and returned to natural vegetative state. Approximately 100 meters of new sewage force main piping will also be installed to extend to the proposed facultative cell.
