North Shore Hydro Distribution Line Rebuild

Manitoba Hydro is proposing to install a 6 km single phase 12.47kV underground distribution line to replace the existing overhead distribution line. The project also involves the conversion of 800 metres of three-phased overhead to a single-phase line. Approximately 3 km of underground cable will be installed via horizontal directional drilling and approximately 3 km of underground cable will be installed via trenching. The existing 4.2 km overhead line will be removed and salvaged, and the existing poles will be properly disposed of. Work will occur within the road allowance. A few trees and branches may need to be removed to maintain a 3-metre buffer along the trench.
