Reconstruction of Rifle Range 2 - Canadian Forces Base Shilo

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to alter the existing landscape of the project site (Rifle Range 2 Reconstruction, Canadian Forces Base Shilo) in Area A to conform to current DND range standards. The site will be reconstructed to adjust firing points from imperial measurements to metric. In general, this is an earthworks project on established land. The work will relocate the firing points and mounds to correct alignment/geometry in metric units. The topography of the land will be leveled by adding backfill in addition to topsoil and stop butt being screened to limit large pebbles & cobbles and remove spent ammunition. Minor articles will be installed such as replacing flagpoles, staircase and lane markers. Hydroseeding will occur to re-establish site vegetation.
