Berens River Small Craft Harbour Breakwater Repairs and Pile Installation

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours is responsible for maintaining a safe and accessible harbour at Berens River, MB, and is planning a project to repair the existing breakwater and float wharves, and install of new steel anchor piles at the Berens River - Sigurdsson Island Small Craft Harbour site. 

This project includes:

  • Addition of 1743 tonnes of armour stone to the existing breakwater over approximately 10,000m2
  • Installation of three (3) new 12 meter long steel anchor piles to support existing floating docks
  • Installation of three (3) new steel lug plates to the existing principal floating docks
  • Installation of two (2) 1.2m x 6.1m finger floating docks

September 23, 2025 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada Small Craft Harbours has issued it's Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
