Ridley Island Energy Export Facility - Footprint Expansion only

The Ridley Island Energy Export Facility Limited Partnership is proposing the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility Project (REEF or the Project). REEF was formerly known as the Vopak Pacific Canada Project, which received determinations in accordance with the requirements of Section 67 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 and Section 82 of the Impact Assessment Act (IAA) from the Prince Rupert Port Authority, Transport Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

These determinations found that the Vopak Pacific Canada Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Please see Canadian Impact Assessment Registry Reference Number 81744 for more information on the Vopak Pacific Canada Project assessment.

REEF requires removal of 11.7 ha of additional terrestrial habitat that was not previously proposed in the Vopak Pacific Canada Project assessment. Environment and Climate Change Canada must make a determination as to whether the removal of 11.7 ha of terrestrial habitat for REEF is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects under IAA s.82.
