Canadian Coast Guard Hartley Bay Search and Rescue Float

The Canadian Coast Guard along with Transport Canada are in the planning process of developing a new Search and Rescue facility in Hartley Bay, BC.  To support operations at this facility, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is proposing the replacement of an existing, aging dock structure with a new, floating dock structure.

The proposed dock replacement will take place within the same general footprint of the existing dock, along the southwest shore of Hartley Bay, BC.  Construction of the new floating dock will consist of removal of the existing structure, installation of a pre-fabricated structure, and placement of anchors/anchor lines. No infill is anticipated to be required within the marine environment.  Dock replacement works will be conducted from a floating barge or from shore, in order to ensure no works are conducted below the high water mark.
