Wahnapitae First Nation - Prevention and Wellness Centre

Wahnapitae First Nation is proposing a capital build for the Wellness and Prevention Centre on undeveloped lots. The footprint of the one story building is 920 m2, with an additional parking lot. Well water and septic will be installed following applicable guidelines. The community specified that no species at risk have been identified in the proposed project area. There are roads on three sides and the backside of the lot is adjacent to roads and a large campground, wildlife does not frequent the green space.

Notice of Intent to Make a Determination – Start of Public Comment Period

May 10, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until June 10, 2022 respecting that determination.
